William “Bill” R. Campbell, 76, of Fremont, OH passed away on Monday, February 27, 2017 at Stein Hospice in Sandusky, OH. He was born on August 5, 1940 in Pikeville, TN to Bill Hamilton and Bernell (Campbell) Turner.

Bill married Mary Walling on January 25, 1964 in Rossville, GA and she survives. Bill owned and operated Campbell & Associates Insurance for over forty years and retired in 2015. He was a member of the Fremont Country Club and attended the Church on 53. Bill loved golfing, spending time with family and friends and eating Red Gables fillets.

Bill is survived by his wife of fifty-three years, Mary Campbell, Fremont, OH; children, Dave (Kelly) Campbell, Nashville, TN, Karen Campbell, Fremont, OH, Victoria (Juan Jr.) Ortiz, Bellevue, OH, Tammie Allen, Fremont, OH, Sharon (Carlos) Berry, Bellevue, OH; siblings, Claudette (Virgil) Johnson and Mary Jane (Ken) Houchins; grandchildren, Melanie Rocha, Juan Ortiz, Markie Wagner, Jr., Jacob Rocha, Alenah Rocha, Bethany Ortiz, Bobby Allen, Levi Ortiz, Jessie Campbell, Lily Campbell, Leondro Ortiz, Tre Campbell, Aaliyah Campbell, Sierra Ortiz, Graham Campbell, Lorenzo Campbell, Kelsey Williams; fourteen great grandchildren; special cousins, Frances (Von) Bell and Beverly; special friends, Rod Williams, Mark Murray, John Soto, Dave Widman, Peggy Holman, along with many others.

He was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents, Jessie and Lillian Campbell; grandson, Joseph Rocha.

Visitation: Friday from 2 – 4 pm and 6 – 8 pm at Wonderly Horvath Hanes Funeral Home and Crematory, 425 E. State St, Fremont, OH.

Service: Saturday, March 4, 2017, 3:00 pm at the funeral home.

    We were so sorry to hear of the illness and passing of Bill. He was such a kind man. We always enjoyed our encounters with him at Dave & Kelly’s house. We will be praying for your whole family as you deal with this loss. No one can replace our parents. Grace & Peace to you all during this time of loss.     To all the family of Bill Campbell: my condolences are with you all! I loved Bill and worked with him for some years. What a wonderful man of God he was. He loved his family and would do anything for them or anyone else for that matter. I was very privileged to have known him. God Bless you all!

    A man of great compassion a golfer a good friend, a great co worker as I had worked with Bill in the insurance industry. He was so gentle. His tenderness always touched me. I gonna miss you Bill, I have thought about him for years, you made an imprint on my heart Bill. Our condolences to the family .
