Tony Munoz
Tony Munoz, 89, of Fremont, OH passed away on Tuesday, July 27, 2021 at Firelands Regional Medical Center in Sandusky. He was born on June 4, 1932 in San Antonio, TX, the son of Tony and Victoria (Gomez) Munoz. Tony served in the U.S. Army from 1953 to 1955 and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal. He married Viola Dina Rendon on April 30, 1953 at Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio, TX and she preceded him in death on November 29, 2016.
Tony worked at Kelsey Hayes in Fremont and retired after forty years as Head Electrician in 1994. He was an avid golfer and was presented with a prize for his hole in one at Green Hills in 2019, which he achieved at the age of 87. He enjoyed golfing at many of the surrounding golf courses with all his fellow golfers and friends. Tony enjoyed bowling, dancing, listening to music, playing the accordion and harmonica. Tony’s greatest passion was telling people about his personal experience and devotion to the Lord and his love for his loving wife, Viola and his ten children.
Tony is survived by his children, Robin (Jason) Durnwald, Fremont, OH. Sande (Paul) Gottron, Port Clinton, OH, Ginny Munoz, Fremont, OH, Gilbert Munoz, Ft. Worth, TX, Timothy Munoz, Fremont, OH, Tommie (Tom) Chesser, Green Springs, OH, Todd Munoz and Paul (Emily) Munoz both of Bellevue, OH, Dina (Eric) Potridge, Fostoria, OH; sister, Tencha Bultazar, San Antonio, TX; sixty grandchildren; twenty-five great grandchildren and thirty-one great-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife of sixty-three years, Viola D. Munoz; son, Tony Munoz, Jr.; siblings, Tomasita and Gilbert Munoz.
The family would like to acknowledge Pastor Lewis and his congregation for their loving and continuous friendship, Water of Life Fellowship church body, Hayes Memorial United Methodist Church and Green Hills Golf Course.
Burial will take place on Saturday, August 7, 2021, 11:00 a.m., at Greenlawn Memory Gardens, 1793 W. McPherson Hwy, Clyde, OH, with Military Honors provided by the American Legion and VFW.
A Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday, September 4, 2021 beginning at Noon at Connor Park, 2220 Tiffin, Rd, Fremont, OH 43420.
Memorials can be made to his family in care of his daughters, Robin Durnwald and Sande Gottron.
