
Thomas Edward Doty, 68. of Green Springs, OH passed away on Saturday, July 1, 2017 at the Bellevue Hospital. He was born on January 21, 1949 in Fremont, OH to George and Margaret (Cunningham) Doty. He was a 1967 graduate of St. Joseph High School and attended Columbus University.
Thomas served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War from January 22, 1969 to January 17, 1972 and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal; Expert (Rifle M-16) Badge and Sharpshooter (Rifle M-14) Badge.
Thomas married Sue Shoemaker and she preceded him death. He worked various jobs and enjoyed playing pool. He was artistic.
Thomas is survived by his siblings, David (Patrice) Doty, Elmore, OH, Michael Doty, Fremont, OH and Patrick (Sue) Doty, Green Springs, OH; adopted son, Brian Monahan; nieces, Brittney, Natasha and Jamhisa; and his beloved dog, Zeke.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Sue Doty and step-son, Brian Lehman.
A private burial will take place at McPherson Cemetery at a later date.
