Steve R. Mravec, 85, Fremont OH joined his Lord on May 8, 2015, surrounded by his loving family. He was born March 3, 1930 in Toledo, OH to Joseph and Maria Mravec. He was 1948 graduate of Macomber Vocational School in Toledo, OH. He married Carol Meyers on June 12, 1954 in Rossford, OH and she survives.
Steve worked at Libbey Owens Ford, Plant 8, in East Toledo OH in the maintenance department for 31 years retiring in 1979. Steve was a member of the Maumee River Racing Association with his brother Joe as stock outboard racers and a formerly a member of St. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church, Rossford, OH.
He enjoyed camping, spending the summers at the cottage, fishing, hunting, especially his hunting trips to Wyoming with his wife Carol. Over his many years he enjoyed riding motorcycles, scooters, vegetable gardening and was very mechanical. He also enjoyed building and flying radio controlled airplanes and he was a senior member of T.O.R.C.M (Tiffin OH R/C Modelers) as well as a member of other clubs in Ohio and Florida. Always the dedicated father, Steve would never miss an opportunity to spend time with any of his three dear daughters whom he loved very much. Steve adored his two grandchildren and cherished any time spent with them. Steve, Carol and their daughters did everything together and the many memories made during those precious days will never be forgotten.
He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Carol Mravec formerly of Rossford OH; daughters, Jeanie (Dennis) Zunk of Oak Harbor OH, Annmarie (Steve) Schade of Fremont OH and Joann (Bill) Wright of Port Charlotte, FL; grandchildren, Ryan Schade of Findlay OH, Kimberly (Adam) Shearn of Fremont OH; one soon to arrive great grandchild and brother, Rudy Mravec, Toledo OH.
He is preceded in death by his parents and brothers Andrew and Joseph Mravec.
Visitation: Tuesday May 12, 2015 from 2pm– 8pm, at Wonderly Horvath Hanes Funeral Home, 425 E. State St., Fremont OH with a rosary at 7:30 p.m.
Mass of Christian Burial: Wednesday, May 13, 2015; 11:00 a.m.at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 550 Smith Rd. Fremont OH with an hour of visitation prior to the service at the church. Longtime family friend Father Albert Ceranowski will be officiating.
Burial will take place St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery, Fremont OH
In lieu of flowers donations made be made to Sacred Heart Catholic Church or Stein Hospice of Sandusky OH.

    Heartfelt condolences to you Carol and ALL of your family. I feel blessed to have seen just a glimpse of Steve when he was still talking some. His warmth, humor shown through ! It was a long hard journey for all of you, why we will never know but take comfort that he went very peacefully. Please know you ALL are in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. May God comfort and be near you.
