
Stanton Walter Barnes, 70, of Fremont, OH passed away on Wednesday, August 29, 2018 at Stein Hospice in Sandusky, OH. He was born on October 16, 1947 in Fremont, the son of Richard and Violet M. (Vickery) Barnes. He was a 1966 graduate of Fremont Ross High School.
Stan married Vicki Lennhoff on November 29, 1969 at First Presbyterian Church and she survives. He worked as a material handler at Eaton Controls where he retired. He had also worked at Techniform, did maintenance at the Fremont Speedway, Sandusky County Fair Grounds and Attica Speedway.
Stan was a social member of the VFW and a member of the Fremont Ross Hall of Fame. He was a Fremont Ross and Ohio State fan. Stan was also a member of the Fremont Ross Athletic Boosters where he served as Past President, Vice President and Trustee and established a gaming fund working at the Fair and Jimmy Bukkets. He was a racing fan for many years. Stan enjoyed camping and spending time with his family and friends.
Stan is survived by his wife of forty-eight years, Vicki Barnes, Fremont, OH; brother, Dennis Barnes, Fremont, OH and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Darryl Barnes.
Visitation: Tuesday, September 4, 2018, from 2 – 4 pm and 5 – 7 pm at Wonderly Horvath Hanes Funeral Home and Crematory, 425 E. State St, Fremont, OH.
Services will begin at 7:00 pm at the funeral home.
Burial will take place at Greenlawn Memory Gardens, Clyde, OH on September 10, 2018 at 10:00 am.
