
Santiago “Jimmy” L. Bejarano, Sr., 83, of Fremont, OH passed away at his home surrounded by his family on Tuesday, January 31, 2023. He was born on July 25, 1939, in Brownsville, TX to Joaquin and Julia (Limon) Bejarano. Santiago married Horalia Espinoza on November 4, 1961 at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Napoleon, OH. He worked as a crane operator for Kelsey Hayes Company for thirty-eight years until he retired in 1997. Santiago had a love for music. He was a member of the Los Cuatro Vientos for many years and received various awards for his music. He was also inducted into the Tejano Conjunto Hall of Fame in San Antonio, TX. Santiago enjoyed working around his home and was able to fix anything.
Santiago is survived by his wife, Horalia Bejarano, Fremont, OH; daughter, Sonya (Johnny) Vicencio, Holland, MI; son, Ruben (Becky) Bejarano, Genoa, OH; grandchildren, Diana (Steven) Proudfit, Victoria and Johnny Vicencio, Diego and Alejandro Bejarano; siblings, Maria Barrera and Baldemar Bejarano.
He is preceded in death by his parents and son, Santiago E. “Jimmy” Bejarano, Jr.; brother, Raul Bejarano
Visitation: Monday, February 6, 2023 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Wonderly Horvath Hanes Funeral Home and Crematory, 425 E. State St. Fremont, OH 43420. Services will follow at 12 p.m. at the funeral home.
Burial: Greenlawn Memory Gardens, Clyde, OH
Memorials can be made to American Diabetes Association or Alzheimer’s Association.
