Salvador “Jimmy” R. Salas, 92, of Fremont, OH passed away on Thursday, February 2, 2023 at St. Charles Hospital in Oregon, OH. He was born on September 15, 1930, in Jalisco, Mexico to Macedonio and Librada (Rios) Salas. He married Alberta E. Espinosa on August 30, 1950, in Edinburgh, TX and she preceded him in death on July 3, 2012. Salvador worked for Pioneer Sugar and retired after forty years as a packaging mechanic. Jimmy loved watching the Cincinnati Bengals and The Ohio State Buckeyes. He enjoyed Mexican folk music and gardening. He loved his family and was a good husband, father and grandfather.

Salvador is survived by his children, Elizabeth Salas of California, Juan “John” (Catherine) Salas, of Florida, Roy (Angelique Santiago) Salas, Toledo, OH, Rob Salas, Fremont, OH; grandchildren, Stephanie (Andy) Salas-Snyder, Derek (Chrissy) Salas, Amber Salas, Nicolette Salas and Andre Santiago; great grandchildren, Louisa, Benito Salvador, Johnny, Elena, Julia, Ethan and Lilyana; brothers, Pedro Salas of Illinois and Eliseo Salas of Texas.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Alberta Salas; son, Salvador Salas, Jr; grandson, Justin Salas; brother, Lupito Salas.

Visitation will take place on Friday, February 10, 2023 from 10:00 to 11:00 am at Wonderly Horvath Hanes Funeral Home and Crematory, 425 E. State St. Fremont, OH 43420

A committal service will follow the visitation, beginning at 11:30 at Greenlawn Memory Gardens Clyde, OH.

Memorials can be made in his honor to St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Fremont, OH.
