Rosalyn M. (Edwards) Koester, 69, of Fremont, OH passed away on September 27, 2015 at Countryside Continuing Care Center. She was born in Fremont, OH the daughter of William and Virginia (Schneider) Edwards. She was a 1966 graduate of Fremont Ross High School.
Rose married Thomas C. Koester, Sr. on August 21, 1971 at Grace Lutheran Church and he preceded her in death on March 3, 2015. She worked for Tony’s Bakery and then was a nursing assistant at Bethesda Care Center for 33 years until she retired in 2011.
Rose was a life member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary, member of the Red Hat Society at Countryside, the Women of the Moose and Eagles Auxiliary. She enjoyed playing Bingo, collecting Knick Knacks and search puzzles. Rose also was an avid Ohio State Fan, loved to watch her soap operas and spending time with her family.
Rose is survived by her son, Thomas C. Koester, Jr., Fremont; siblings, Betty Topel, Fremont, Vicki (Buz) Balduf, Oak Harbor and Linda (Fred) Fitzgerald, Clyde; and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Thomas Koester, Sr.; infant son, Charles Koester; siblings, Yoland Ameling, Mary Sabo, Judith Sutter, Barbara Rigsby, William, James, Richard and David Edwards.
Visitation: Tuesday from 3 to 7 p.m. at Wonderly Horvath Hanes Funeral Home & Crematory, 425 E. State St., Fremont, OH
Service: Wednesday, September 30, 2015; 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home.
Burial: Rusha Cemetery, Oak Harbor.
