
Ronald A. Woodruff, 74, of Akron, OH passed away at his home on May 24, 2019. He was born on August 29, 1944 in Norwalk, OH the son of Robert “Woody” and Elizabeth “Betty” (Bevington) Woodruff. Ron married Creasha McNair on May 5, 2015 in Las Vegas and she survives.
Ron served in the US Army during the Vietnam War where he received the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Air Medal, Vietnam Service Medal and the Aircraft Crewman’s Badge. He then was a substitute teacher for several years. Ron also worked for Norfolk Southern for many years until he retired.
Ron was a Free Mason and enjoyed watching all types of sports and news. He loved history, traveling, cigars and watches.
Ron is survived by his wife, Creasha Woodruff, Akron; children, Bryan Woodruff, Kevin Woodruff, Amanda Linnewebr, Adam Woodruff, Krenautica (Brandon) Zollicoffer, Honesty (Donte) Zollicoffer, Dareka Layne, As’Starr Blasingame, Isis Blasingame, Ja’Mia Woodruff and King Woodruff and seven grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Bob Woodruff.
Visitation: Monday, June 3, 2019 from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Wonderly Horvath Hanes Funeral Home and Crematory, 425 E. State St., Fremont, OH.
Burial will take place at a later date at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
