
Robert “Bob” Hahn, 77, of Fremont, OH passed away on Monday, September 4, 2023 surrounded by his family. He was born January 14, 1946 to Charles and Mary (Szilagyi) Hahn in Port Clinton, OH. Bob married Joyce Ponivas on May 14, 1971 in Fremont, OH and she preceded him in death on April 7, 1990. He served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War where received the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal and the Vietnam Campaign Medal with Device.
Bob worked in the Parks Department for the City of Fremont for fifteen years until he retired. He was a lifetime member of the Fremont VFW and a member of the American Legion. Bob enjoyed fishing, coin collecting, cooking and loved to spend his time with his family.
Bob is survived by his children, Brian (Crystal) Hahn, Wake Forest, NC and Lisa (Jerry) Sims, Fremont; daughter-in-law, Stacy Beckrest, Parma, OH; siblings, Kolman Hahn, Steven (Lynn) Hahn, and Vicki (Scott) Martin and grandchildren, Natalie, Makayla, Lindsey and Matthew Hahn, Trevor, Garrett Hahn, Presley Beckrest, Jelissa, Jerrell and Jerrick Sims and great grandson, Eric Hahn.
He is preceded in death by his parents and wife, Joyce Hahn; son, Eric Hahn; brother, John Hahn.
Visitation will take place on Saturday, September 9, 2023 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Wonderly Horvath Hanes Funeral Home and Crematory, 425 E State St., Fremont, OH.
Services will follow at 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home with military honor’s provided by the VFW and American Legion.
Burial will take place at Oakwood Cemetery, Fremont, OH at a later date.
Memorials can be made in his honor to the Donor’s Choice.
