
Robert “Bob” G. Beckman, 91, of Fremont, OH passed away on Sunday, January 11, 2015 at Elmwood Assisted Living at the Springs in Green Springs, OH. He was born on January 17, 1923 in Jackson Township, OH, the son of Walter and Maude (Schoch) Beckman. He was a 1941 graduate of Jackson Burgoon School.
Bob served in the U.S. Army during WWII and was awarded World War II Victory Medal and the Army of Occupation Medal (Japan). He married Audrey McDonald on January 8, 1956 at Old Fort United Methodist Church and she survives.
Bob worked for the Ohio Turnpike Commission in the Maintenance Department for over twenty-six years and retired in 1987. He was a member of Old Fort United Methodist Church, a member of the Sandusky County Farm Bureau and was a Volunteer with the Ballville Fire Department. He enjoyed Polka dancing and spending time with his grandchildren.
Bob is survived by his wife of fifty-nine years, Audrey Beckman, Fremont, OH; children, LaDonna (Tom) Lowell, Toledo, OH, James (Laura) Beckman, Petersburg, KY, Diane (JR) Lopez, Fremont, OH; grandchildren, Steve Lowell, Jeff (Paula) Lowell, Sarah (Chris) Heckle, Pam (Brock) Schueren, Anna Lopez; great grandchildren, Aaron (Katie) Lowell, Jacob Lowell, Danielle Lowell, Christopher Heckle III.
He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Norma Wirkner, Helen Porter, Ruth Rahn, Jane Lashley, Don Beckman and Kate Linder.
Visitation: Thursday from 2 – 4 pm and 6 – 8 pm at Wonderly Horvath Hanes Funeral Home and Crematory, 425 E. State St, Fremont, OH.
Service: Friday, January 16, 2015, 10:30 am at the funeral home, with one hour of visitation prior to the service, Pastor Scott Robles officiating.
Burial: Pleasant Union Cemetery, Old Fort, OH with Military Honors.
Memorials: American Cancer Society or American Parkinson Disease Association.

Somehow while searching thru Fremont Ross and old HS information this popped up. Even though it has been several years now, please accept my condolences. Your Dad and Mom were always so kind to me.
