Stover Robert TWO

Robert “Bob” E. Stover, 85, of Fremont, OH passed away Sunday, April 03, 2016 at Pristine Senior Living. He was born October 13, 1930 in Willard, OH to Robert Stover and Helen (Clark) Seiple.

Bob married Patricia “Kay” Darr on October 12, 1957 in Fremont, OH and she survives. He was the owner and operator of Stover’s Sales and Services, a small construction company. Bob was known by many people in the Fremont and surrounding areas for his ability to build or fix almost anything. Bob built his own house and pool in Ballville Township and he and his wife Kay lived there for almost fifty years. He was also the maintenance man for the former Bonnie and Cy’s Family Restaurant. Bob enjoyed bowling, fishing, hunting, golfing, camping, and doing yard work. He was a former member of the Fremont Bowman, a local archery club. He volunteered as an Assistant Scout Master for Boy Scout Troop 400 of Fremont. He and his son David had many adventures hiking, camping, and canoeing. The family had many memorable road trips, some of the best being at Bahia Honda state park in the Florida Keys in their “Ritz Craft” camper and in the desert around Tucson Arizona. Bob almost always made time for other people, whether it was assisting his daughter in the latest cat rescue, hauling an antique Volkswagen half way across the country, or having morning coffee with his beloved mother-in-law Jane. Most recently he loved nothing more than mowing his yard on his ancient lawn tractor or going to watch his granddaughter compete for the Sand Otters swim club.

Bob is survived by his wife of fifty-eight years, Kay Stover, Fremont, OH; children, David Stover, Fremont, OH, Sue Stover, Huron, OH, Robert (Janet) Stover, Tiffin, OH, Sheryll Baker, Norwalk, OH; granddaughter, Ellen Stover, Fremont, OH and brothers, James “Bud” Seiple, Huron, OH, Glenn Seiple of Florida.

He was preceded in death by his parents; uncle, Reverend Kenneth Stover; brother, Richard Stover and sister, Helen (Seiple) Leonard.

David and Sue,
The neighborhood has lost a fine friend. I enjoyed spending many hours talking with Kay while Bob sat and listened…hardly able to get a word in if he want to do so.

Annie and I would like to express our condolences to Bob’s family at this time of great sorrow. Bob was one of a kind.

Bob and i worked together at Homes/Casas, Inc. back in the ’70s. I learned a lot from Bob about the construction field and in working with subcontractors. It came in handy in my career as a civil servant with the federal government.

Dave I am so sorry for your and your family’s loss. I will keep you all in my prayers. I really enjoyed your Dad’s video that you have posted here. The pictures are great. Again, I know how hard it is to say goodbye to someone you love, but one day we will all be together again. May God bless you and your family.

Dave and family,
My condolences. He lives on through the collective memory of those he touched. Dave has shared a few of those memories with me at spin class. I’m sure there are many more memories to cherish and share.
