In 1987, I met Richard at the Illinois State Library’s Starved Rock Library System in Ottawa, Illinois. One of his duties was educating and informing librarians about the Illinois State Library’s requirements. When consolidations of the systems took place, Richard transferred to the Prairie Library System in Shorewood, Illinois, from which he retired. I am thankful that I had met Richard for he molded many Library Directors into fine librarians. Rest In Peace. My condolences to his family.
Leslie Poldek/Retired Streator Public Library Director.
