Richard Dean Schoch
Richard Dean Schoch, 78, of Fremont, OH passed away on Saturday, April 1, 2017 at ProMedica Memorial Hospital. He was born on July 19, 1938 in Fremont, the son of Delbert and Mary (Stewart) Schoch.
Richard served in the U.S. Army during peacetime, from December 28, 1955 until November 16, 1957, and was awarded the Good Conduct Medal. He married Phyllis Keck and she preceded him in death on April 22, 2011. Richard worked for the Christy Company and then for Sam Simm’s Blacktop. He enjoyed gardening, working in his yard and fishing.
Richard is survived by his children, Richard (Rachel) Schoch, Gibsonburg, OH, Mark (Kelley) Schoch, Fremont, OH, Greg (Nikki) Simpkins, Tiffin, OH, Tamara (Brent) Dicker, Fremont, OH; siblings, Kathy Temple, Crestline, OH, Rosemary Heath of North Dakota, Janet (Juan) Juarez of Texas, Michael (Sue) Schoch, Fremont, OH, Dennis (Pat) Schoch, Clyde, OH; sister-in-law, Phoebe Schoch, Fremont, OH; grandchildren, Jeremy (Stacy) Schoch, Regina Shisler, Paul (Patti) Zulauf, Ringo Schoch, Tiffany Shorty, Tim Cannon, Gregory Simpkins, Jr., Aubrey and Emma Simpkins, Jessica (Michael) Schoch, Adam Radar, Mark Schoch II, Tyler Lazano, Tyler Young, Jessica and Kaitlyn Herr; twenty-seven great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Carol Schoch; siblings, Sherri Whitt, Robin Schoch and David Schoch; great granddaughter, Alaysia Zulauf.
Visitation: Thursday, April 6, 2017, from 2 – 4 pm at Wonderly Horvath Hanes Funeral Home and Crematory, 425 E. State St., Fremont, OH.
Services will follow at 4:00 pm at the funeral home with Certified Funeral Celebrant, Susann Robitski Zimmerman officiating.
Memorials can be made to the Donor’s choice.
