
Rhea H. Myers, 100, of Fremont, OH passed away peacefully on Monday, May 29, 2017 at Bethesda Care Center. She was born on June 29, 1916 in Gibsonburg, OH to Henry and Carrie (Ickes) Walters.
Rhea married Carl E. Myers on December 23, 1937 in Angola, IN and he preceded her in death on July 1, 2002.
Rhea worked at the Fremont Hotel starting at the age of sixteen. After that she graduated from the Toledo Academy of Cosmetology and became a Beautician where she then worked in Tiffin and at Iva’s Beauty Shop in Fremont. She was a waitress at Fremont Hotel, Little Café, Heffelfinger’s, Don’s Diner, Mark’s Restaurant and owned and operated with her husband, Carl, 4 Mile House Truck Stop. She also waitressed at Green Hills in Clyde, OH, Fremont Country Club, Fremont Yacht Club and Fort Stephenson and the Clairdon’s Restaurant before she retired in 1975. Rhea was a lifelong member of Fremont Alliance Church where she was very active. She made afghans and loved to travel. She was also an avid bowler.
Rhea is survived by her children, Charlotte Hottinger, Fremont, Oh and William (Karen) Myers, Las Vegas, NV; sister, Shirley Munson, Fremont, OH; six grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren and eleven great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Carl E. Myers; siblings, Roma Springer; J. Morris Walters, Kathryn Weicker, Richard Walters, and two infant siblings.
Visitation: Friday from 9 am – 11 a.m. at the Fremont Alliance Church, 936 N. Brush St, Fremont, OH.
Service: Friday, June 2, 1017, 11:00 a.m. at the church with Pastor Glenn Merrill officiating.
Burial: Oakwood Cemetery
Memorials: Christian Missionary Alliance Church; Bethesda Care Center or Stein Hospice.
