Bob, IS a good and caring man! Always enjoyed seeing him at the family gatherings and discussing important things like OSU football! Our father always enjoyed seeing him also. We are forever grateful for him being able to deliver the eulogies at our parents funeral. We were blessed. The passing is painful for us but am very happy he is no longer in pain and is with our Lord in heaven. God bless!

I loved Bob. He was an amazing man and a fine example of a caring human being. We will be worse off without him, but the blessing is that we were able to experience him. Godspeed Bob.
Thank you for your leadership and example.

Bob was a colleague in ministry, a friend and a true blessing (and fun to be around, in the process). I especially enjoyed the Tuesday Pastors’ Studies that he hosted at Faith. I will be in New Jersey on Monday, but my thoughts and prayers will be in Fremont.
Blessings to all and especially Bob’s family,
Jim Dumke,

My sincere condolences to the Family of Bob Young!
I got to know Bob through our Church basketball league when he was Pastor at Waldo Lutheran Church in Waldo Ohio. Bob was very competitive on the court, always doing Gods work. Bob had the ability to relate life situations, to Biblical reference and explain in ways that made more sense to me. I know Bob touched my life and I know many others!
God Bless you Robert! RIP.

To Bob’s family and loved ones
Pastor Bob Young was a bright spot in my life most weeks over the past 7 or 8 years
He, along with Pastor Gerry Gosnell, were the two who invited me to be members
of the Lutheran Pericope Group.
Bob’s ecumenical attitude not only made me feel welcome, but the faith that underlaid
his sharing about Jesus Christ in the gospels, supported my own faith.
May Bob now be experiencing the Truth and the Life in Jesus Christ

I remember this mischievous little boy they called “Porky” from Edon, Ohio. What a character he was.
His dad was my dad’s cousin. We went to Luther League the same time. I remember how surprised I was when I heard he became a minister.
I am sure he will be missed by many. My condolences to all. Prayers and hugs Robert Lee.

Pastor Bob was a deeply committed follower of Christ. Each week for 9 years we were part of a pericope group. Bob invited me to be a part of the group, made me feel welcome, and he brought his passion for the gospel to the discussion. I am blessed to have known him. I will remember his smile and his humor.

I have very pleasant memories of going to church in Waldo. Bob was always there for everyone.
He was a good example of being a strong leader, family man, and always a friend to the community as well as our church members. Having worked on many internship committees with him, I can say that he was definitely one of the “three amegos.” Sorry to the family for their loss. He ran the good race. “Well done good and faithful servant.”

Pastor Bob is in some of my favorite memories. As church secretary, I enjoyed working with him the 9 years we were together at St. Paul’s Waldo. Know that the mark he left is a great one, and because of this he’ll never really be gone. He was a kindhearted person. He always put a smile on my face and will continue to do so whenever I think about him.
Jerie, Many sympathies to you and your family for your loss.

Bob was my colleague, and we served together in Fremont for several years. My best memory of Bob is from our weekly pastors meeting/study (which I think Bob helped organize). Whenever one of us had a funeral coming up, Bob would send us out with the words, “Give ’em Jesus!”

I appreciated the entire family during their time in Waldo. Good and kind people. Pastor Bob didn’t just tend the flock at St. Paul’s, but was a main stay in the community. Played softball, played in the Waldo community band and was a fixture in this close knit community. He was a supporter of his children and grandchildren and his sweet wife. My sincere condolences to all of you. Philippians 4:19. My God will meet all of your needs according to the riches of His glory in Christ Jesus.
You are in my prayers. Claudia

I was deeply saddened to learn this afternoon about Bob’s death. He was a student at Trinity Lutheran Seminary during my first years there, and I enjoyed him very much as a student and as a person. We had a lot of fun together, and I learned to appreciate him even more after graduation during the years he was in Waldo and therefore more frequently around the seminary. It was also hard to find a fellow-Dodger fan in Ohio!
Please accept my condolences and prayers of intercession during these difficult days and weeks. What a gift he was to the church, his parishioners, and most of all, to you.
