
Regina M. Szymanowski, 77, of Fremont, OH passed away on Saturday, February 17, 2018 at Promedica Memorial Hospital. She was born July 9, 1940 in Tiffin, OH, the daughter of Louis P. and Gearldyn (Boroff) Ferstler. She attended St. Joseph grade school and graduated from Calvert High School in Tiffin.
Regina married Gary L. Heileman on February 23, 1963 and together they had three children, Angela A. (Gary) Brafford, Fremont, OH, Joseph (Kathy Montgomery) Heileman, Bellevue, OH and Steven Heileman, Fremont, OH.
Regina married Thomas W. Szymanowski on March 11, 1978 at St. Joseph Catholic Church and he survives. She worked at G.C. Murphy Company. Regina also worked at Steinberger Implement; P.P. Services at the Ohio Turnpike, Famous Supply Co., Revere Plastics in Clyde, Oh and K-Mart.
Regina was a member of the Women of The Moose where she earned degrees for the College of Regents, Star Recorder and Academy of Friendships. She enjoyed bowling, playing cards, reading books, garage sales and going to Put in Bay.
In addition to her children, Regina is survived by her husband of forty years, Thomas W. Szymanowski; siblings, Mary (Jim) Durnwald, James Ferstler and John (Betty) Ferstler, all of Tiffin, OH; five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and granddaughter, Morgan Heileman.
Visitation: Wednesday from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Wonderly Horvath Hanes Funeral Home and Crematory, 425 E. State St, Fremont, OH 43420.
Mass of Christian Burial: Thursday, February 22, 2018, 10:00 a.m. at St Ann Catholic Church, 1021 W State St, Fremont, OH 43420.
