
Raymond R. Franks, 80, of Green Springs, OH passed away on Monday, November 27, 2017 in the Emergency Room at Bellevue Hospital. He was born on March 25, 1937 in Clyde, OH, the son of Alvin and Doris (Keegan) Franks. He attended Fremont Ross High School and Davis Business College.
Raymond married Pamela J. Gschwind and they have been together for the past forty-eight years. He was a self-employed Contractor. Ray owned and operated Ray Franks Excavating Company for twenty-five years until he retired in 1992. He loved his dog, Max and enjoyed fishing, growing tomatoes and spending time at the lake with his family.
Raymond is survived by his wife, Pamela J. Franks, Green Springs, OH; son, Anthony (Jennifer) Franks, Gibsonburg, OH; siblings, Harold (Carol) Franks, Barb McCoy and Judy (Bob) Cunningham all of Fremont, OH, Betty Jo Heschel, Tiffin, OH and Peggy Eberly of Florida; grandchildren, Nolan Franks and Adrianna Franks both of Gibsonburg, Richard “Bud” Mendoza, Stevenson, OR and Rachael Mendoza, Bowling Green, OH, and Matthew and Nicholas Martin both of Columbus, OH.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter Jennifer Martin; siblings, Nancy Brunner, Sandy Miller, Alvin, James and Lester Franks.
Visitation: Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Wonderly Horvath Hanes Funeral Home and Crematory, 425 E State St., Fremont, OH.
Service: Friday, December 1, 2017; 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Scott Mauch officiating.
Burial: Greenlawn Memory Gardens, Clyde, OH
Memorials: Bellevue Hospital Foundation or Humane Society of Sandusky County
