Petra “Patsy” D. Ortega

Petra “Patsy” D. Ortega, 73, of Fremont, OH passed away at her home on Thursday, January 20, 2022.  She was born on December 14, 1948 in Toledo, OH, the daughter of Marcus and Jesusa (Cruz) Herrera.   Patsy married Manuel Ortega in October 1967 in Monroe, MI and he survives.  She was a homemaker that loved her politics and watching reality tv. She attended Victory Church.  Patsy was the best at cooking Mexican food.  She enjoyed sewing and babysitting her extended family.  Patsy loved her family, especially her grandchildren.

Patsy is survived by her husband of fifty-four years, Manuel Ortega, Fremont, OH; children, Kristina Ortega, Fremont, OH, Manuel (Dawn) Ortega, Jr., Clyde, OH, Juan Marcos Ortega, Fremont, OH and Victoria (Adam) Calabrese, Stow, OH; siblings, Alicia Davis, Fremont, OH, Mary (Steve) Papesh, Chicago, IL, Amalia “Molly” (Luis) Rodriguez, Fremont, OH, Margie (Gabor) Seres, Jacksonville, FL, Lucy (Louis) Herrera, San Antonio, TX, Edward “George” (Paula) Herrera, Bloomington, NC, Marcus (Kathy) Herrera, Ricardo “Rick” Herrera and Isabel “Liz” (Rory) Keyes, all of Fremont, OH; grandchildren, Rochelle Ortega, Manuel “Bubba” Ortega III, Izahas Ortega, Sarah King, Dezerrae Starr, Donovan Wilburn, Raeanna Starr and Austin Starr and twelve great-grandchildren; Serenity Johnson (her favorite great-granddaughter) and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Virginia Guerrero.

Visitation will take place on Wednesday, January 26, 2022, from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm at Wonderly Horvath Hanes Funeral Home and Crematory, 425 E. State St, Fremont, OH

Services will begin at 1:00 pm at the funeral home.

Burial:  Greenlawn Memory Gardens, Clyde, OH
