Offer Condolences for the family of Patrick C. Herring

Amy and Shelley and family,
For many years we played basketball at St. Ann’s hall on Monday evenings together. My son David played with us several times. Last October I was visiting David on the occasion of his son’s 2nd birthday. His son Emmett loves anything with a ball involved and had a plastic basketball hoop in the living room where he was playing. David mentioned to me that the next step was to teach him the Pat Herring hook shot that your Dad was so good at. The next time i saw your Dad I told him about it. He did not say a word but his smile was priceless. We really enjoyed our time spent with Pat and are saddened by your loss.

I was/am very saddened by the death of Pat. He was a wonderful person, very upbeat.
There is never a good way or time to die but at least Pat is with his beloved Linda (Pinky)
I will have Mass offered for Pat here in Livonia, Mi.
You are and will be remembered in my prayers.

I worked with Pat for many years at Ohio Bell at the Cherry exchange downtown. I enjoyed his dry sense of humor and the way he never seemed to get too flustered. In later years he was a part of our Myrtle Beach golf group. For many years, at least 20, we would drive or fly down to South Carolina for a week of golf and great companionship with the other telephone golfers. I particularly remember the time when we were rooming together and the last episode of MASH was on. All the guys came down to our room and we had martinis like Hawkeye on the show. Many fond memories. We both retired years ago but I will always remember the fun we had a OBT and Myrtle Beach.

We are very sorry for your loss. Such a great man with a great smile and kind soul. You have inherited those traits and we know you will feel God’s footprints in the sand supporting you through this tragedy. Your mom and he were a great team and we loved and appreciated spending Sunday nights bowling with them. It was way back in time, but they both left a lasting impression after talking with them. God bless!

Heart-felt sympathy to Pat’s family from my wife and me.
I worked both for and with Pat during our “AT&T years” in the 1980’s and 90’s. He was steady and fair minded and a good friend to all of us. We could always depend on him to do the right thing in any situation. It was a privilege to know him.

Even tho we all know that our day will come to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, we are never ready to accept it. I pray that we can look at the good times that our loved one’s have shared with us will over ride the loss we suffer.Pat was a happy go lucky man that always had a good word to say, loved his family and now is at peace with his wife Pinky enjoying eternal life. One day we will again be with him in a better place but until then I like to think that he would only want us to be happy and not sad. May Pat rest in peace and keep a eye over all of his loved ones.

Dear Amy and Shelley,
Pat and I lived on Gay Street in Trilby during high school at Whitmer. We played basketball at Otto’s hunted rabbit and squirrel, shot pool at his brothers house and even visited a few of Toledo’s pubs.
We only saw each other once over the past 40+ years, but recently reached out a few times since September last year. We made a pact to play golf on my next visit to Toledo, but that all changed
suddenly the same weekend. Pat may not have looked like a super athlete, but I could never beat him at any of the sports we played.
We didn’t see much of each other over the years, but we were like brothers those few years.
I will miss him and he will remain in my heart and memories forever.
My sympathies to you both and all his family and friends everywhere.
