
Patricia Jean Ackerman, 77, of Fremont, OH passed away on July 23, 2016 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on May 27, 1939 in Fremont the daughter of Edward and Angela (Klisz) Kupka. She was a 1957 graduate of St. Joseph High School.
Pat married Thomas Ackerman on June 20, 1959 at St. Casimir’s Catholic Church and he survives. She was a homemaker and worked for several years at Shurer and Koch Accounting.
Pat was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church. She was an active member of St. Casimir Catholic Church for many years serving as the director of Religious Education, co-founder of the Charismatic Prayer Group and member of the Altar Rosary Society. She was also active in the Dioceses of Toledo as a Ministry Formation Teacher and taught RCIA and pre-marriage classes with her husband Deacon Tom Ackerman. She enjoyed writing Christian songs, Polish cooking, and spending time with her family.
Pat is survived by her husband of fifty-seven years, Thomas Ackerman, Fremont; children, Debra (Jim) Fleckner, Joseph (Karen) Ackerman both of Fremont, Sheryl (David) Meinke, Massillon, OH, Richard (Linda) Ackerman, Melanie (Mark) Keegan and Thomas (Renee) Ackerman all of Fremont; siblings, Carolyn King, Oak Harbor, OH and David (Linda) Kupka, Fremont; seventeen grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Wednesday, July 27, 2016; 10:30 a.m. at St. Ann Catholic Church, 1021 W. State Street, Fremont, OH with an hour of visitation prior to the service at the church. Fr. Michael Zacharias will officiate.
Burial: St. Joseph Cemetery, Fremont, OH.
In lieu of flowers memorials are requested to St. Ann Catholic Church, Hospice of ProMedica Memorial Hospital or Ministry to Catholic Charismatic Renewal.
