William L. Hackworth, Sr.

William “Bill” L. Hackworth Sr, 91, of Green Springs, OH passed away surrounded by his family on Wednesday, June 25, 2025 at ProMedica Toledo Hospital. He was born on September 20, 1933 in Bonanza, KY to Henry and Lucy (Whitaker) Hackworth.

Bill married Florence A. Marsillett on June 27, 1967 in Bonanza, KY. In his younger years, Bill was a coal miner for several years with his father. He spent over sixty years behind the wheel as a dedicated truck driver, owing and operating his own rig. Farming was close to his heart where he found real joy and purpose in caring for goats and spent a great deal of time riding horsing along with going to horse shows and sales.

Bill is survived by his wife of fifty-eight years, Florence Hackworth, Green Springs, OH; children, Pam Clark, Frankford, KY, Bill Hackworth Jr, Tamela Hackworth, both of Green Springs, OH, John Paul (Jodi) Hackworth, Clyde, OH, Leeana Hackworth, Green Springs, OH; siblings, Okie Wells and Henry O. Hackworth, both of Kentucky; four grandchildren and one great grandchild.

He is preceded in death by his parents and several brothers and sisters.
