Virginia M. Hausman

Virginia M. Hausman, 91, formerly of Fremont, OH passed away on Sunday, July 14, 2024 at Oak View Terrace, Freeman, SD. She was born on July 23, 1932 in Fremont, OH to Leroy and Edith (Smith) Barnheiser. Virginia was a graduate of Fremont Ross High School and then went on to receive her associate’s degree at Terra State College. 

Virginia married Willis W. Hausman on August 7, 1954 in Angola, IN and he preceded her in death on July 29, 2012. Virginia then remarried Fred R. Dietrich in October 2014, sharing their love together with almost a decade of happiness with one another until his passing in April 2024 at their home in Greer, SC. She started her automotive accounting career at Don Paul Ford where she worked up until her retirement. She came out of retirement to work at Steinle Automotive for many more years, finally retiring in 2011. Virginia enjoyed playing the piano, especially at her church. She enjoyed spending time with her family and spoiled them with her unconditional love and generosity. Virginia just enjoyed being in the moment and was always seen with a smile upon her face.

Virginia is survived by her sons, Todd (Mary) Hausman, Marion, SD; Bruce Hausman, Bettsville, OH: 11 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Loren Barnheiser, Marian Hoy, Darlene Darr; husbands; sons, Lenny and Wayne and daughter-in-law, Delia.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 25, 2024 from 11:00 am to 2:30 pm at Wonderly Horvath Hanes Funeral Home and Crematory, 425 E. State St, Fremont, OH 43420.

A Graveside Service will take place at Greenlawn Memory Gardens, Clyde, OH following her visitation, beginning at 3:00 pm.

Memorials can be made in her honor to the donor’s charity.
