Thomas Steinberger

Thomas A. Steinberger, 73, a lifelong resident of Ballville Township, passed away unexpectantly at his home on December 27, 2025. He was born on July 16, 1952 the son of Alexius and Bernadette (Poorman) Steinberger. He was educated in Green Springs, OH and graduated in 1971.

Tom married Debbie Beier on July 19, 1974 at St Mary Catholic Church in Clyde, OH and she survives. He was a mechanic for Steinberger Implement John Deere and then Great Lakes Pioneer Sugar. Tom then worked at MGQ, Inc in Bettsville, OH until he retired.

Tom was a faithful member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He enjoyed farming, tinkering, playing cards, and collecting coins. Tom always put others first and had a wonderful laugh, endless heart and always lent a supporting hand.

Tom is survived by his loving wife of fifty-one years, Debbie Steinberger; children, Ken (Paulene) Steinberger, Green Springs, OH, Donna (Mat) Kanan, DeWitt, MI and Judy (Randy) Morgan, Oxford, MI; grandchildren, Tahlia, Veronika, Paige, Zoe, and Kaylee; siblings, Carl (Linda) Steinberger, Betty (Bill) Obringer, Irene (Don) Ball, Jim (Maureen) Steinberger, Ed (Rita) Steinberger, Aggie (Jeff) Mackey, Joe (Cathy) Steinberger and Bob (Kathy) Steinberger; brother-in-law, Joe Moscioni; sisters-in-law, Linda and Connie Steinberger; many nieces, nephews and longtime neighbors and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Rita Moscioni, Bill, Don and Mary Louise Steinberger.

Visitation will take place on Friday, January 2, 2026 from 2 to 8 p.m. at Wonderly Horvath Hanes Funeral Home and Crematory, 425 E State St., Fremont, OH with a rosary at 7:30 p.m.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, January 3, 2026; 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 550 Smith Rd., Fremont, OH with Fr. Krzysztof Kardzis officiating. Visitation will take place one hour prior to mass at the church.

Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Fremont, OH.
