Shirley E. Potridge

Shirley E. Potridge, 91, of Fremont, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, October 27, 2026, at her home. She was born on November 13, 1933, in Gibsonburg, Ohio, to Edwin and Helen (McDonald) Metzger. Shirley married Eugene Potridge on May 8, 1955, in Indiana. He preceded her in death on September 13, 2013.

Shirley worked at Singer Controls for many years until the company closed. She enjoyed crafts, taking photographs, crossword puzzles, quilting, and camping. She was a member of the Eagles Auxiliary.

She is survived by her children, Eugene R. Potridge, Gibsonburg, Jeff (Sherry) Potridge, Fremont, Kevin Potridge, West Virginia, and Eric (Dina) Potridge of Kansas, OH; 18 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings, Ed (Tina) Metzger, Fremont, Bill (Marylou) Metzger, Florida, and Faye Chaffie, Fremont.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Eugene; son, Terry Potridge; daughter, Sandra Whitcomb; and sisters, Dorothy Feltner, Edwina Smith, and Carol Biddle.

A private graveside service will take place at Oakwood Cemetery.
