Shirley Mae Paap

Shirley Mae Paap, 91, of Fremont, OH passed away on Saturday, September 6, 2025 at Elmwood Assisted Living. She was born on July 21, 1934 in Stratford, WI to Herman Reckner and Bernice (Nickel) Yakaites.

Shirley owned and operated Char-Zel Motel for many years. She enjoyed spending her time in her garden, bird watching and tending to her cats.

Shirley is survived by her son Rick (Karen) Schneck, Wake Forest, NC; brothers, James (Patricia) Reckner, Spencer, WI and Kenneth (Paulette) Reckner, Marshfield, WI.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Bernice and stepfather, Tony Yakaites; son, David Schneck; brothers, Gerald Reckner and Robert Reckner.

A private burial will take place for Shirley at Four Mile House Cemetery.
