Sharon S. Carmel

Sharon Sue Carmel, 81, of Fremont, OH passed away on Saturday, December 20, 2025 at Bethesda Care Center in Fremont, OH. Sharon was born on December 5, 1944 to Robert and Elizabeth (Hern) Witherspoon in Columbus, OH. Sharon was a 1962 graduate of Elyria High School. She then went on to receive her LPN from Sandusky Providence Hospital School of Nursing in 1963.

Sharon worked as an LPN for twenty-two years for Fremont Memorial Hospital and retired in December 2011. She loved helping and taking care of people. Sharon enjoyed reading, crafting and spending time with her grandchildren and friends.

Sharon is survived by her children, Robert Carmel, Fremont, OH, Jennifer (Trey) Sasser, Loris, SC; grandchildren, Jason Carmel, Jake Metzger, Addison Metzger; great-grandson, Kash; niece, Shirley Entinghe, Lima, OH.

She is preceded in death by her parents and former husband, Dennis Carmel.

It was Sharon's wishes to not have services at this time.

The family would like to express a special thanks to Heartland Hospice and Bethesda Care Center for their fantastic care for Sharon during this time.
