Sandra Sue Watson

Sandra “Sandy” Sue Watson, 85, of Fremont, OH, passed away on Wednesday, May 13, 2026 surrounded by her family at her home. Sandy was born on September 27, 1940 to Robert and Loyola (Babione) Ritzman in Fremont, OH. Sandy was a 1958 graduate of St. Joseph High School. She married Glen Watson on November 15, 1958 and he survives.

Sandy worked many odd jobs in her early career, including Sternbaums, A&P and grocery stores. Sandy was a bank teller for over sixteen years, retiring from US Bank in 2005. She enjoyed sewing, camping, baking and spending time with her family. Over the years Sandy and her husband Glen travelled to Florida in the winter and volunteered at Lake Griffin State Park for fourteen years.

Sandra is survived by her husband of sixty seven years, Glen Watson; children, Jeffrey (Jill) Watson, Fremont, OH, Vicki (Joe) Dobbins, Cortland, VA, Kathryn (Kenneth) Foos, Fremont, OH; granddaughter and caretaker of over eleven years, Natasha Irons; grandchildren, Tyler Watson, Erika Clements, Andrea Rogers, Samantha Hoppes, DJ Hoppes; great grandchildren, Julia Davis, Alessandra Irons, Jayce Hoppes, Aidan Thompson, Emma Thompson, Davin Hoppes, Vann Hoppes, Kennedy Clements; great granddaughter, Charlotte, siblings, Roberta (Gerald) Lenz, James (Marsha) Ritzman, LaDonna (Dennis) Michael, Richard (Wendy) Ritzman.

She is preceded in death by her parents, son, David Glen Watson; siblings, Suzette Pfefferle, Nancy Winkle, Ronald Ritzman and an infant sister.

Visitation will take place on Monday, May 18, 2026, from 4-8 p.m. at Wonderly Horvath Hanes Funeral Home and Crematory, 425 E. State St. Fremont, OH 43420 with a vigil service beginning at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Tuesday, May 19, 2026 at 10 a.m. at St. Ann Catholic Church, 1021 W. State St. Fremont, OH 43420.

Burial will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.

Memorials can be made in her honor to St. Jospeh Catholic Church.
