Roni Lynn Blue

December 20, 1959 — April 3, 2026

Fremont

Roni Lynn (Collier) Blue, 66, of Fremont passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Good Friday, April 3, 2026 after a six year battle with metastatic lung cancer. Roni was born in Fremont to Ronald and Janet (Bartee) Collier.

Roni was a 1978 graduate of Fremont Ross High School and was a cheerleader for both football and basketball. She received her LPN degree from the Bowling Green School of Practical Nursing and her RN degree from Owens Technical College. Roni worked at Fremont Memorial, Sandusky County Home Health, Parkview Care Center, Ottawa County Home Health and retired from the Mercy St. Charles Wound Care Clinic.

Roni married Steve Blue on September 6, 1985 and they recently celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary. Steve survives in Fremont, along with her daughter Marci (Roberto Bernetich) of Lakewood, OH and son Jesse Blue of Columbus, OH. She is also survived by her grandson Nico Bernetich. Other survivors include her sisters Carrie (Joe) Beier and Georgia Collier, brother Ross Collier, mother-in-law Colleen Blue, aunts Ruthann Ruggiero and Gail Collier as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Roni is preceded in death by her parents Ronald and Janet Collier, sister Chris Reynolds, brother-in-law John Reynolds and father-in-law Jack Blue.

Roni loved being a Dance Mom to Marci and Baseball Mom to Jesse. She treasured her grandson Nico, who from birth, gave her the strength and will to battle cancer day in and day out. Roni loved vacations on the beaches of Florida, trips to Phoenix and Sedona, visits to Amish Country, many a good concert and any ball game in Cleveland. Her beautiful smile and heartfelt laugh will be missed by those who knew and loved her.

The family would like to thank the many doctors and nurses at the Cleveland Clinic for their compassion and care over the past six years. They truly became family to us. Also, thanks to Dr. Hohman and staff at NOMS, the great ladies at Firelands Wound Care and lastly, the doctors and nurses at ProMedica, who guided us through the past few weeks.

Visitation will take place on Saturday, April 11, 2026, from 10 am to 12 pm with a vigil will follow at 12 pm at Wonderly Horvath Hanes Funeral Home and Crematory, 425 E State St., Fremont, OH. A celebration of life will then follow at the Fremont Country Club, 2340 E. State St., Fremont, OH.
