Richard Drown

Richard E. Drown, 79, formerly of California and Green Springs, OH passed away on January 19, 2026 at Elmwood at the Shawhan in Tiffin, OH. He was born on September 15, 1946 in Green Springs, OH the son of Howard and Enid (Sonner) Drown. Richard was a graduate of Green Springs High School.

Richard served in the US Army from 1965 to 1968 where he was awarded the National Service Defense Medal, Good Conduct Medal and the Sharpshooter Badge. He then worked as a Quality Engineer at NASA for many years until he retired. He loved Harley Davidson motorcycles and enjoyed traveling on his bike and attended Sturgis for many years. He also enjoyed photography, nature and playing tennis.

Richard is survived by his siblings, Beverly Naslund and Dwight Drown and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Donald, Vivian, Gerald and Larry Drown.

Visitation will take place on Saturday, January 24, 2026 from 10 to 11 a.m. at Horvath Hanes Funeral Home and Crematory, 211 N Broadway St., Green Springs, OH. A funeral ceremony will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.

Burial will follow at Green Springs Cemetery.
