Richard H. Adams

Richard H. Adams, 96, of Fremont, OH passed away on January 26, 2026, at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on January 11, 1930, in Fremont, OH, the son of Harry and Ruth (Vickery) Adams. He attended Fremont Ross High School where he was proud to be a member of the swim team. Dick served in the US Navy during the Korean Conflict.

Dick married Sarah “Sally” Ellen Rauch on November 25, 1951, at the First Presbyterian Church in Fremont, OH. He worked at The Herbrand Company for many years. He then became the co-owner of the family business Prairie Builders Supply for many years until he retired in 1992.

Dick enjoyed hunting, fishing and was and avid bowler and golfer. Dick also played church league softball for many years. Dick enjoyed spending time with his family and traveling with his wife, Sally.

Dick is survived by his children, Susan (Bruce) Rodgers, Temperance, MI, Richard A. (Margaret) Adams and Jeffrey (JoAnn) Adams both of Fremont, Barbara (Mark) Boedeker, Attica, OH, Thomas (Sally) Adams, Lindsey, OH and Tamara (Ronald) Allan, Haysville, KS; sister, Faye Latham, Upper Sandusky; grandchildren, Andy, Jared and Joe Brandon, Doug, Ryan and Scott Adams, Allison Miller, Leah Good, Jordan Adams, Erica Frobose, Alec Adams, Kimberly Reiterman, Sarah Steward, Amanda Maynard, David and Jonathan Adams and Emily McNett, Brad, Jake, Danny and Brent Allan; thirty-six great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Harry (Mary) Adams; mother, Ruth (Clayton) Myers; wife, Sally Adams; brothers, Arthur “Jim” Adams and Arnold “Jack” Adams.

Visitation will take place on Saturday, January 31, 2026 from 3 to 5 p.m. at Wonderly Horvath Hanes Funeral Home and Crematory, 425 E State St., Fremont, OH. A celebration of life will follow at 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made in Dick’s honor to Heartland Hospice.
