Reda A. Paulson

Reda A. Paulson, 88, of Fremont, Ohio, passed away on July 22, 2026 at Valley View Health Campus in Fremont. Reda was born on June 8, 1938, in Conneaut, Ohio, to the late David and Anna (Polgar) Passmore. She graduated from Conneaut High School. On June 28, 1958, Reda married the love of her life, Raymond C. Paulson, in Cleveland, Ohio. He preceded her in death on October 23, 1982.

Reda worked as a bookkeeper for the American Red Cross for 20 years before retiring. When her children were young, she was actively involved with their school PTA/PTO and Camp Fire programs.

After retiring, Reda enjoyed traveling to many places around the world. Her travels included visits to Africa, Australia, and Japan, as well as numerous cruises with her best friend, Joan Spader. She also enjoyed watching football and golf, playing cards, and, most of all spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Reda is survived by her children, Ray (Emily) Paulson Jr. of St. Joseph, Michigan, Randy (Ikuko) Paulson of Loveland, Ohio, Rhea Roat of Portland, Oregon, Ross (Debby) Paulson of Fremont, Ohio, and Ronna Ashbrook of Beavercreek, Ohio.

She is also survived by her grandchildren, Elaina Paulson, Natalie Paulson, Julian Paulson, Ryan (Chloe) Paulson, Ashley (Brad) Samay, Adam Paulson, Aaron Paulson, Josh (Emily) Roat, Becca (Quin) Ostrow, Kraig (Kendra Lyons) Paulson, Kristyn (Gary Michalk) Paulson, Erik Paulson, Elijah Paulson, Kaleb Paulson, Bret Ashbrook, and Marissa Ashbrook; and her great-grandchildren, Kaden Paulson, Nathan Paulson, and Molly Roat.

In addition to her parents and husband, Reda was preceded in death by her siblings, Ted Passmore (2003) and Marie Greene (2004).

Visitation will take place on Thursday, July 30, 2026 from 6 pm to 7:30 with a Vigil Service beginning at 7:30 pm at Wonderly Horvath Hanes Funeral Home and Crematory, 425 E. State St., Fremont, Ohio 43420.

Visitation continues at Sacred Heart Church from 9 am to 10 am on Friday July 31, 2026 followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, 550 Smith Rd, Fremont, OH 43420.

Burial will follow Mass at St. Joseph Cemetery. Church luncheon to follow Burial services.

Memorial contributions may be made in Reda’s honor to Sacred Heart Church.
