Phyllis M. Sloan

Phyllis M. Sloan, 93, of Clyde, OH, passed away on Monday, June 22, 2026, at Majestic Care of Clyde. Phyllis was born on August 23, 1932, to Frank and Katheryne (Lynch) Hoy in Fremont, OH. She was a 1950 graduate of Fremont Ross High School. Phyllis married Walter Sloan on June 9, 1952, in Woodville, MS and he survives.

Phyllis worked as a bookkeeper for Don Paul Ford for eleven years. She was a well known area artist and has a painting currently hanging in the Pentagon.

Phyllis is survived by her husband of seventy-four years, Walter Sloan; daughter, LeeAnn (John) Gouttiere, Waterville, OH; son, Troy Sloan, Madison, OH; grandchildren, Joy (Mark) Monroe, Michael (Jaimi) Mullholand, Eric Mullholand, Matthew (Mary Kay) Burr, Todd Burr, Jeffrey (Lizzie) Burr, Jack (Haley) Gouttiere, six great-grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter.

She is preceded in death by her parents, daughters, Teresa Snyder, Marcia Burr; siblings, Florence Fry, Flossie Ottney, Evelyn Jensen, John Hoy, Dale Hoy, Robert Hoy, Donald Hoy and Delbert Hoy.

Visitation will take place on Friday, June 26, 2026 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Wonderly Horvath Hanes Funeral Home and Crematory, 425 E. State St, Fremont, OH 43420.

Funeral Services will follow at 12 p.m. at the funeral home.

Graveside services will follow at Oakwood Cemetery.
