Phyllis Roth

Phyllis C. Roth, 86, of Fremont, OH passed away on Wednesday, October 21, 2026 surrounded by her family at her home. Phyllis was born on March 22, 1940 to in Oregon, OH the daughter of Edward and Goldie (Carncross) DeCant. She attended Jerusalem Township Schools. She married Kenneth L. Roth Sr. on February 27, 1960 in Bono, OH and he preceded her in death on July 16, 2014.

Phyllis was a devoted homemaker and a member of Al-Anon for more than thirty years. She enjoyed playing cards—especially Euchre—as well as crafting, painting, ceramics, reading, and working on puzzles. She took pride in keeping her home clean and organized, loved staying active and spending time outdoors. Phyllis loved shopping and going out to eat and especially loved her sunshine skillet with extra gravy and biscuits. She treasured time with her family and friends above all.

Phyllis is survived by her children, Pam Roth, Connie Gerogosian, Diane Hiser all of Fremont, OH; sister, Kathryn Lowery, just as now deceased; grandchildren, Thomas and Kenneth Sluder, Brittany Edwards, Nathan and Nickolas Hiser; three great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Kenneth L. Roth Sr.; son, Kennth Roth Jr.; daughter, Nancy Sluder; siblings, Mary Nusbaum, Eleanor Chio and Richard DeCant.

Visitation will take place on Monday, October 26, 2026 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm at Wonderly Horvath Hanes Funeral Home and Crematory, 425 E. State St. Fremont, OH 43420.

Funeral Services will take place on Tuesday, October 27, 2026; 10:30 am at the funeral home.

Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery.
