Mildred "Jo" J. Miarer

Mildred "Jo” Miarer, 85, of Fremont, OH passed away on April 15, 2026 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on July 22, 1940 the daughter of Harold and Irene (Perrin) Covert.

Jo was a 1958 graduate of Green Springs High School. She married John Miarer on August 6, 1966 at Hayes United Methodist Church and he survives. Jo worked at JC Penny’s and ShopRite.

Jo was a longtime member of Hayes Memorial Untied Methodist Church. She enjoyed baking, growing sunflowers, and mowing yard. Jo was a 4-H advisor for over twenty-two years and loved her Jersey Cows which she enjoyed milking since childhood on her family farm. She also enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Jo is survived by her husband of fifty-nine years, John Miarer; sons, Rick Miarer and Jeff (Tammy) Miarer, all of Fremont; sister, Betty (John) Geroge of Maryland; grandchildren, Cody and Katlyn Miarer, Cassandra Pitts, Paige (Garret) Joseph, Haley Miarer and thirteen great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation will take place on Monday, April 20, 2026 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Wonderly Horvath Hanes Funeral Home and Crematory, 425 E State St., Fremont, OH.

A funeral service will take place on Tuesday, April 21, 2026; 10 a.m. at the funeral home.

Burial will follow at Mount Lebanon Cemetery, 2071 Finfrock Road, Fremont OH.

Memorials can be made in Jo’s honor to Heartland Hospice or Sandusky County 4-H.
