Mary Berryman

Mary (Coon) Berryman, 92, of Fremont, OH passed away on Friday February 27, 2026 surrounded by her family at the Alpine House in Fremont. She was born on December 23, 1933 in Fremont, OH to John and Pauline (Young) Coon. She was a 1951graduate of Fremont Ross High School. 

Mary married Jack Berryman on June 10, 1952 at Hayes United Methodist Church. Mary was a devoted housewife married to Jack for 64 years until his passing in 2017. Mary loved camping, gardening, many crafts, cooking and volunteering at Hayes Memorial United Methodist Church in addition to time spent with family and friends. 

Mary is survived by her children, Eileen (Bob) Hammer, Jeff (Sue) Berryman, all of Fremont, OH and Pam (Jeff) Beier of Powell, OH; sister, Carol Coon of California; eleven grandchildren and twenty-two great grandchildren. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Jack, sons Brian and Bruce; sister, Phyllis Pitts.

The family would like to thank the staff at Alpine House for their loving care.

Visitation: Tuesday, March 3, 2026 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at Wonderly Horvath Hanes Funeral Home and Crematory, 425 E. State St, Fremont, OH. A funeral service will follow at 12:00 pm at the funeral home.

Burial will follow at McGormley Cemetery, Fremont, OH.

Memorials can be made in Mary’s honor to Lutheran Home of Mercy in Williston, OH or Heartland Hospice.
