Mark Allen Messecar

Mark Allen Messecar Sr., 62, of Fremont, OH passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 12, 2026 at Toledo ProMedica Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Mark was born on February 1, 1964 to John Lyman Messecar and Marilyn Jean (Krauss) Ashley in Fremont, OH. Mark was a 1982 graduate of Clyde High School. He married Debora Sampsel on June 22, 1991 in Green Springs, OH.

Mark worked for Woodbridge in Fremont as a Robotics Engineer for over twenty years until he retired in 2025. He enjoyed watching sports especially baseball, poker, board games and playing the lottery.

Mark is survived by his wife of thirty-five years, Deb Messecar; children, Mark (Claire) Messecar Jr., Perrysburg, OH, Levi (Meline) Messecar, Boynton Beach, FL, Kelly (Phil) Lilly, Marysville, OH, Alex Palyshka, Fremont, OH, Stephanie (John) McCulley, MO; special granddaughter, Madelyn Jones; eight grandchildren; siblings, Todd (Jackie Larkins) Messecar, Green Springs, OH, Jenny (Don) Wilbur, Vickery, OH; step-siblings, Susan Barrick, Lori Welty, Debra (Doug) Champine.

He is preceded in death by his father, John Lyman and Ginger (Henry) Messecar and mother, Marilyn Jean (Krauss) and Martin Ashley.

A Celebration of Life will take place on Wednesday, September 16, 2026 at 12 noon at the Clyde Eagles, 1120 S Main St, Clyde, OH 43410.

Memorials can be made in his honor to the Sandusky County Humane Society.

In his final act of selflessness, it was Mark’s decision to give the gift of life through organ and tissue donation.
