Lorrie Ann Dymond

October 23, 1961 — March 20, 2026

Fremont

It is with the deepest sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mom, wife, and grandma- Lorrie A. Dymond, after a very short albeit hard fought battle with lung cancer. She went home to be with our Lord and Savior on March 20, 2026 after falling asleep to an eternal afternoon nap on the first day of Spring.

Lorrie was born in Clyde, OH on October 23, 1961 to Dale and Carol Hoffman. She was the oldest of 4 children. Lorrie graduated from Clyde High School in 1980 and went on to further education at Columbus Technical Institute to become a lab technician. Life had a different path for her and she found her calling as a Paramedic, serving Sandusky and Seneca counties for over 30 years. She made a career caring for others and teaching students how to do so as well. She was foundational in the Vanguard-Sentinel Adult Public Safety program. Lorrie taught EMT/Paramedic, First Aid, and CPR courses amongst many others. If you were lucky enough to have been taught by her, you were trained by the best. Lorrie retired from Vanguard-Sentinel in 2023 but couldn’t stay away so she continued her career at Penta part-time until her passing.

Lorrie met the love of her life, Michael, at a friend's wedding in 1980. It was love at first sight...for Dad. They celebrated 45 years of marriage on February 28th. He survives in Fremont as well as her three daughters whom she was immensely proud of; Alyssa (Cody) Devor of Mount Blanchard, Kaitlyn (Trevor) Dymond of Millbury, and Dayna (Cody) Clayton of Windsor, CO. She is also survived by her most favorite boys-her grandsons, Cash Dymond and John V. Devor, grand-fur-babies Cricket and Shrimp, and special kitty and dog, Wally and Andy. Other survivors include her mother Carol Hoffman of Clyde. Lorrie is preceded in death by her father, Dale Hoffman.

Lorrie was a spectacular woman, born with a servant’s heart. This is evident in her time spent serving at Grace Community Church. You could find her on Sunday mornings serving coffee with Dad or with a warm smile at the Information Desk. For many years, she and Dad served in the 4th and 5th grade Sunday School class. It is difficult to imagine moving forward in this world without her but she will live on in the monarch caterpillars caught by her grandsons, the lavender planted by the window to be carried on the summer breeze, or the jam sessions of Ted Nugent's Stranglehold.

She was the best mom, fierce in her love, stern in her discipline, and whimsical in her memory making. Snow days were spent with homemade cookies and board games, summer strolls to find Monarch butterflies, and family dinners with music trivia. Halloween was her favorite and often celebrated with a spooky dinner. She absolutely loved her flower and vegetable gardens and was very proud of the greenhouse designed and built by Dad.
