Lana Jean Cress

Lana Jean Cress, 82, of Fremont, OH passed away on October 9, 2025 at Bethesda Care Center surrounded by her family. Lana was born on September 29, 1943 to Robert Moore and Ardethe (Bowersox) Baumer in Fremont. She was a 1961 graduate of Jackson-Burgoon High School. She married Gary Cress in Fremont in April of 1981.

Lana was a waitress for over thirty years working for Holiday Inn and Denny’s in Fremont and several other businesses. She enjoyed bowling, fishing, casinos and cats. Lana loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Lana enjoyed her early morning tea everyday.

Lana is survived by her husband of forty-four years, Gary Cress of Fremont, OH; children, Jeff (Gina) Weber, Tiffin, OH, Scott (Toni) Weber, Northwood, OH, David Weber, Fremont, OH and Steve Culbert, Port Clinton, OH, Philip Cress, Columbus, OH; ten grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and one great-grandchild on the way.

She is preceded in death by her parents and brother David Moore.

Visitation will be Tuesday, October 14, 2025 from 4-6 p.m. at Wonderly Horvath Hanes Funeral Home and Crematory, 425 E. State St. Fremont, OH 43420.

A Celebration of Life will follow visitation at 6 p.m. at the funeral home. This service will be informal, and the family would love for everyone to bring their favorite stories of Lana to share.

Memorials can be made in her honor to the Humane Society of Sandusky County.
