Kathleen Sheidler

Kathleen D. Sheidler, 73, of Green Springs, OH passed away at her home on January 18, 2026. She was born on February 18, 1952 in Tiffin, OH the daughter of Jack and Jean (Blue) Stiger. Kathy was a 1970 graduate of Old Fort High School and Vanguard Vocational School and received her real estate license from Terra State Community College.

Kathy married Paul "Doug" Sheidler on August 17, 1985 at Pleasant Ridge Church and he survives. She was a homemaker for many years and also sold real estate, arts and crafts at various flea markets, Avon and Mary Kay Cosmetics. Kathy also cleaned homes for several years. She loved sports and was a Browns and Ohio State fan but her true passion was to watch the Cleveland Indians. Kathy loved to take care of her home and cooking. She raised hogs and loved her chocolate labs, especially her current dog, Chubb.

Kathy is survived by her husband, Doug Sheidler, Green Springs, children, Jay (Kara) Pence, Old Fort, Jaime (Margot) Pence, Fremont, Erin (Nick) Mellott, Old Fort; grandchildren, Alyssa (Adam) Wilkerson, Alyson (Ryan) Miller, Colton Mellott, Gage Mellott, Tuff Pence, Maeve Pence and Judson Pence; great grandson, Waylon Wilkerson; sister-in-law, Ann Stiger; nieces, MJ Stiger and Jennifer Fogle; Aunt, Colleen Blue, and cousin, Steve (Roni) Blue.

She was preceded in death by her parents; step-father, William Steirwalt, Sr.; brother, Kim Stiger, and uncle, Jacque Blue.

Visitation will take place on Thursday, January 22, 2026 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Horvath Hanes Funeral Home and Crematory, 211 N Broadway St., Green Springs, OH. A memorial service will follow at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Memorials can be made to Old Fort Little League.
