Judith C. Sevitts

Judith C. Sevitts, 86, of Fremont, OH passed away on May 20, 2025 surrounded by her loving family. She was born on January 14, 1939 in Fremont, OH the daughter of Robert H. and Esther M. (Mitchell) Burns. She was a 1957 graduate of St. Joseph Catholic High School and received a bachelor’s degree in business from Notre Dame College in South Euclid, OH.

Judy worked in the office at her family’s business, Burns Iron and Metal for twenty-three years until she retired. She also worked at Steinle Body Shop after retirement for several years. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Judy enjoyed painting, scrapbooking, gardening, puzzles and genealogy.

Judy is survived by her sons, Robert Sevitts, Fremont and William Sevitts, Millbury, OH; grandchildren, Natasha (Brandon) Jenkins, Timothy (Jessica) Newman, Luke and Thomas Sevitts; great-grandchildren, Lelani, Vaeda and Archibald.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Esther Burns; daughter, Brenda Starns; siblings, Jeanne Forsythe, Robert Burns, Helen Burns, Ruth Hakes, Thomas Burns and David Burns.

Visitation will take place on Wednesday, May 28, 2025 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Wonderly Horvath Hanes Funeral Home and Crematory, 425 E State St., Fremont, OH with a vigil service at 7:30 p.m.

Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Thursday, May 29, 2025; 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 709 Croghan St., Fremont, OH.

Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Fremont, OH.

Memorials can be made in her honor to Hayes Presidential Center.
