Joan C. Mcdonald

Joan C. McDonald, 72, of Elliot St, Fremont, OH passed away on Wednesday, April 24, 2013 at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center in Toledo, OH. She was born on May 9, 1940 in Fremont, OH, the daughter of Theodore and Ruth (Mason) Robbins. She was a 1958 graduate of Clyde High School and attended Bowling Green State University.

Joan married Howard “Bobbie” McDonald on September 12, 1964 at Warren AME Chapel in Fremont and he preceded her in death on March 22, 2013.

Joan worked at H.J. Heinz Company for twenty-eight years and retired in 2002. She was a member of Greater St. James Church of God and Christ. Joan enjoyed crocheting, gardening and reading. She loved helping others and being there for everyone.

Joan is survived by her children, Clifton, Mark, David (Heather), Darlene McDonald, all of Fremont, OH, Jeffrey McDonald, Ashburn, VA; sister, Janice (Gerald) Fought, Gibsonburg, OH and brother, Douglas (Karen) Robbins, Akron, OH; a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Howard “Bobbie” McDonald.

Visitation: Tuesday from 10:00 am until Noon at Wonderly Horvath Hanes Funeral Home and Crematory, 425 E. State St, Fremont, OH.

Service: Tuesday, April 30, 2013, at Noon at the funeral home with Pastor Chester Trails officiating.

Burial: Greenlawn Memory Gardens, Clyde, OH.
