James Robert Albert, 83, of Fremont, OH passed away on September 15, 2026 at ProMedica Toledo Hospital. He was born on December 3, 1942 the son of Walter and Kathryn (Horn) Albert. Jim was a 1961 graduate of Fremont Ross High School. He then proudly served in the US Air Force from 1961-65 and was awarded the Air Force Good Conduct Medal and Outstanding Unit Award.
Jim married Barbara Beckley on September 17, 1966 in Fremont, OH and she survives. He worked for Ohio Bell for many years as a lineman and retired as a foreman. Jim enjoyed exercising, riding his bike, doing yardwork and listening to music. He was an avid Cleveland Guardians, Browns and Ohio State fan. Jim was also a member of the V.F.W.
Jim is survived by his wife, Barbara Albert, Fremont; daughter, Natalie Albert, Fremont; grandson, Tanner (Dakotah Rodriguez) Albert, Elmore; great grandchildren, Jaxin, Raelynn, and Rhone; sisters, Judy (Roger) Puppos, Toledo and Jane Albert, Fremont.
He was preceded in death by his parents and granddaughter, Morgan Mathis.
Visitation will take place on Tuesday, September 22, 2026 from 4 to 6 p.m. at Wonderly Horvath Hanes Funeral Home and Crematory, 425 E State St., Fremont, OH. A military honors service will follow at 6 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorials can be made in Jim’s honor to the American Diabetes Association or donor’s choice.
