James P. Laeng

James P. Laeng, 68, of Fremont, OH passed away, Thursday, February 24, 2022 at Stein Hospice in Sandusky, OH.  He was born January 6, 1954, to Raymond and Harriet (Smith) Laeng.  Jim was a 1972 graduate of Vanguard/Fremont Ross High School.  Jim married Terri L. Rapp on December 29, 1984, in Fremont, OH and she survives.  Jim was a machinist at Crescent Manufacturing for over 30 years and enjoyed outdoor activities such as hunting, fishing, and trapping.  He also loved to cook and he began tinkering in woodworking.

Jim is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Terri Laeng; siblings, Steve (Sue) Laeng and Scott Laeng all of Fremont, OH; niece Rachel (Kyle DeMaagd) Laeng of Royal Oak, MI; uncles, Robert (Roxanne) Wolfe of Fremont, OH, Herbert Smith, and many nieces and nephews.

Jim is preceded in death by his parents; grandparents, Pete (Esther) Laeng and Oliver Smith and aunt, Kathryn Laeng.

Visitation: Tuesday, March 1, 2022, from 3 to 7 p.m. at Wonderly Horvath Hanes Funeral Home and Crematory, 425 E. State St., Fremont, OH.

Services: Wednesday, March 2, 2022, at 10:30 a.m. at the Funeral home with Pastor Rick Ash officiating.

Burial: Greenlawn Memory Gardens, Clyde, OH
