Harriet M. Lopez

Harriet M. Lopez, 93, of Fremont, OH passed away on Saturday, May 10, 2025 surrounded by her family at her home. Harriet was born on July 15, 1931 to Felix and Frances (Falcon) Maldonaldo in Fremont OH. She was a graduate of Townsend-Margaretta High School. Harriet married Roman J. Lopez on November 10, 1949 and he preceded her in death on November 2, 1979.

Harriet retired from Eaton Singer Controls then worked for Community Health Services as a Bilingual Interpreter. Harriet was a devoted mother to her children; they were her world. She was known for being a fantastic cook and her special recipes. Harriet had a natural talent for interior decorating and had an immaculate house that made you feel welcomed and loved. She enjoyed gardening, floral arranging, ceramics and anything outdoors.

Harriet is survived by her children, Carmelita (Robert) Yeisley, Lynn (John) Keyes, Ronald (Betty-Jane) Lopez, Felicia Obregon, Felix (Sandy) Lopez, Harriet (Martin) Hernandez, Bernadine (Jose) Martinez, Rachel (Scott) Lopez-Stine; brother, Peter Maldonaldo; son-in-law, Ernesto Medellin; twenty-two grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Roman J. Lopez; daughters, Ramona Young, Esperanza Medellin; siblings, Frances Renden, John Maldonaldo, Richard Maldonaldo, Susie Loredo, Pauline Ramon and Mary Lou Cantu.

Visitation will take place on Friday, May 16, 2025 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-7:30 p.m. with a Vigil Service beginning at 7:30 pm at Wonderly Horvath Hanes Funeral Home, 425 E. State St. Fremont, OH 43420.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, May 17, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 550 Smith Rd. Fremont, OH 43420 with an hour of visitation prior to mass starting at 9:00 a.m. at the church.

Burial will take place at Oakwood Cemetery in the veterans section next to her husband, Roman J. Lopez.

Memorials can be made in her honor to Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
