Gordon J. Dickman

Gordon J. Dickman, 88, of Fremont, OH, passed away on Sunday, August 2, 2026 at Elmwood Assisted Living & Skilled Nursing of Fremont. Gordon was born on July 27, 1938 to Oscar W. and Eulalia M. (Buddenhagen) Dickman. in Milan, OH. He married Marlene M. Strayer on May 12, 1972 in Sandusky, OH and she preceded him in death on December 17, 2006.

Gordon worked in general maintenance for Corso’s Flower and Garden Center for fifty-three years until he retired on May 31, 2002. He enjoyed fishing, bowling, camping and travelling. Gordon lived on a farm and enjoyed raising all types of animals. He was also a member of the Clyde Eagles.

Gordon is survived by his children, Cheryl (John) Fink, Fremont, OH, Dawn (Raymond) Roberts, Fremont, OH; siblings, Barbara Brownell, Sandusky, OH, Richard “Butch” Dickman, Sandusky, OH; grandchildren, Travis (Alicia) Biehler, Taylor (Ali) Biehler; great-grandchildren, Adam Biehler, Aurora Biehler and Rosie Biehler.

He is preceded in death by his parents and stepfather, Kenneth Hart; wife, Marlene Dickman, siblings, Robert Dickman, Gary Dickman, William Dickman, Ronald Dickman, Janet Anthos.

Visitation will take place on Wednesday, August 5, 2026 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at Wonderly Horvath Hanes Funeral Home and Crematory, 425 E. State St. Fremont, OH 43420.

Funeral Services will take place on Thursday, August 6, 2026 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home.

Burial will follow at Four Mile House Cemetery.

Memorials can be made in his honor to the Sandusky County Humane Society or Heartland Hospice.
