Gerald "Jake" P. Distel

Gerald “Jake” P. Distel, 58, of Fremont, OH passed away on July 7, 2026 at his home with his loving family by his side. He was born on January 23, 1968 in Two Rivers, WI the son of Joseph and Susanne (Keller) Distel.

Jake married Angela Wyatt on June 22, 2019 in Fremont, OH and she survives. He loved to ride his Harley. Jake also enjoyed the outdoors, camping, grilling and having a beer with his friends. He also loved his dog “Hank the Tank”.

Jake is survived by his wife, Angela Distel, Fremont; daughter, Stephanie (Nolen) Fair, Maple Heights, OH, grandchildren, Dominik and Alexander Allicock, Noah and Samayah Fair; siblings, Scott (Barbara) Distel, Marblehead, Ralph “Chip” (Jeri) Distel, Frank “Pork” (Robin) Distel both of Fremont, Tami (Bill) Heberling, Texas; many step-children and step-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Distel and Susanne Homler; sister, Cheryl Kearney.

Visitation will take place on Monday, July 13, 2026 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Wonderly Horvath Hanes Funeral Home and Crematory, 425 E State St., Fremont, OH. A memorial service will follow at 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
