Garry L. Ross

Garry L. Ross, 86, of Fremont, OH passed away on July 7, 2026 at his home. He was born on June 16, 1940 in Waverly, OH the son of Howard Leroy and Ruth Ellen (Daniel) Ross. He was a 1958 graduate of Fremont Ross High School. Garry served in the US Army from 1963 to 1965. Garry married Dixie Dietrich on October 15, 1966 and she survives.

Garry owned and operated with Co-Owner Frank Walby Shoprite Supermarket in Fremont, OH for over thirteen years. He also worked for Stylecrest for many years until he retired. Starting in High School Garry worked for A&P as a grocery clerk for many years before he opened Shoprite. Garry enjoyed golfing, bowling, reading, and spending time with family and grandchildren. Most of all he loved spending time with his wife of many years, Dixie. He was an avid Detroit Tigers and Detroit Lions Fan. Garry was a lifelong faithful member of Fremont First Brethren Church.

Garry is survived by his wife, Dixie Ross; children, Ellen (Brian) Brazelton, Curtice, OH, Suzanne (Micheal) Hoy, Fayetteville, TN, Angie (Tom) Giurtino, Orlando, FL, Jarod (Sherri) Ross, Delaware, OH; grandchildren, Connor, Colin, Cody, Curtis, Cyle, Kail, Kayden, Isaac, Maxwell, Oliver; siblings, Saundra Donahoo, Fremont, OH and Barbara Matesick, Lima, OH and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents; grandchildren, Skye and Chance; brother, Larry Ross.

There will be a Celebration of Life at Fremont First Brethren Church at a later date.
