Freddie Gomez, 61, of Fremont, OH passed away on July 15, 2025 at St. Vincents Medical Center, in Toledo, OH. Freddie was born on December 16, 1963 to Gilbert Gomez and Rosa (Reyna) Yzaugirre in Corpus Christi, TX.
Freddie worked for Eveready Battery for many years until they closed. He also worked for Fremont Fence Co. Freddie enjoyed fishing, riding his bike, listening to music, The Ohio State Buckeyes and spending time with his friends and family. He enjoyed barbequing and was known for his delicious tacos. Freddie was also a devoted Dallas Cowboy fan.
He had a contagious smile that lit up the room and a presence that was always felt. Freddie was most grateful for the little things in life, that meant the most; time, people, & memories. He was a lover of life and a selfless person willing to help anyone.
Freddie is survived by his children, Katelyn Gomez and Jordan Costilla; mother, Rosa (Refugio) Yzaugirre; siblings, Irma Gomez, Sandy Workman, Lupe Gomez, Missy Yzaugirre; cousin, Enrique Vento; and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his father, grandparents and great grandparents.
Visitation will take place on Sunday, July 27, 2025 from 2-4 p.m. at Wonderly Horvath Hanes Funeral Home and Crematory, 425 E. State St. Fremont, OH 43420.
Services will follow visitation at 4 p.m. at the funeral home.
