Ernesto Chavez

Ernesto “Neto” Chavez, 44, of Fremont, OH passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, August 27, 2025. He was born on November 16, 1980 in Okeechobee, FL to Eduardo and Maria Del Carmen (Baez) Chavez.

Neto was currently working for the Steel Metal Worker’s Local 33 in the HVAC Industry for many years. He was an avid Detroit Lions fan and loved watching football. Neto also enjoyed bonfires, fishing and listening to music but above all, he loved spending time with his children.

Neto is survived by his children, Evalina Maria Chavez, Ernesto Chavez Jr; the mother of his children, Cara Kashmer; father, Eduardo Chavez; siblings, Elissa Chavez, Eduardo Chavez Jr, Elena Chavez, Rumalada “Monica” Baez, Ignacio Baez; aunts and uncles, Llolanda Gonzales, Maria Carrio, Gloria Baez, Candelario Baez Jr, Cecilia Rameriz, Beto Chavez, Mondi Chavez, Jose Chavez, Jesus Chavez and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Maria Del Carmen Chavez; nephew, Eduardo Chavez III; maternal grandparents, Candelario & Margarita Baez and paternal grandparents, Simon & Maria Chavez.

Visitation will take place on Friday, September 5, 2025 from 4 to 6 pm at Wonderly Horvath Hanes Funeral Home and Crematory, 425 E. State St, Fremont, OH 43420.

Services will be following visitation, beginning at 6 pm at the funeral home.

Memorials can be made in his honor to his children in care of Cara Kashmer.
